LEGO Mindstorms: Robotic Invention System 2.0
The mission of LEGO Mindstorms is to inspire and empower kids to better realize their potential, develop self-confidence and problem-solving skills and to actively use technology to construct a deeper understanding of their own world.
The Robotics Invention System (RIS) 2.0 give your child the opportunity to design and program real robots to do what he or she wants them to do. First, imagine a robot with the RCX microcomputer as its brain. Next, build the robot by adding LEGO specialty elements onto your RCS. Follow the LEGO building instructions provided, or use your own imagination. Then, use the RIS software on your PC to "build" a program for your model by placing a series of on-screen building block commands on top of each other. Next, with a click of the mouse, you instantly download your program from your PC to your RCX via the infrared transmitter. Finally, press the "run" button on your robot's RCS brain and watch it go!
